OMFG!!

Several hours ago I received a answering message from 972-284-0600 - 9722840600 and was convinced the the person calling was a scammer.

So I decided to complain and dialed the company (Gulf Coast Western) and screamed at the top of my lungs.

You will never believe this... Gulf Coast Western -the oil drilling company- was trying to make contact to approve my job application - apparently I got the job!

I think I'm soooo fired!!!!!!

I don't have any credit cards or owe any money to anyone. this company is consistently calling my cell phone. I do not answer it. I let it go to voice mail. This company is abusing the law by telemarketing off of another state number when they are clearly located in New York. I am on the National Do not call registry and hate these callers. FTC must do something to penalize this company. thank you

Once I saw the responses here, I tried to call the number back to have them remove me from their database... however I received a message stating that the mobile number is no longer in service.

These people are a fraudulent company looking for your credit card number. I gave them a false number and exp. date. They said thanks and hung up. 10 minutes they called back to "verify" the number. I transposed two numbers and said sorry!! They called back again, and I told them they were thieves. They hung up on me. No word back. If they call again I'll humor them again and waste more of their time. Do NOT give them real information. They will steal from you.

Received a phone call on my cell on Nov. 3, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. from 228.209.9560. I did not pick up because I did not know the number.
Subsequent research online lead me to know it was a solicitation.

While I've received this same message/call in my mobile phone, this time they called my work #. The voice mail capture the following:

"...nothing is wrong to your accounts, however it is very important we speak with you regarding your visa, mastercard, american express and discover card. as value customer to your lender you may qualify to lower the interest rate in your cards. press 1 to be connected to a live agent. press 2 to be removed from the list"

"Important" recorded message regarding credit card account. Can lower interest rate...haha. Number is disconnected when attempting to call back.

I didn't answer because the number was not familiar to me. I checked voicemail and there was no message left

assuming it's a telemarketer, could also be someone phishing, since the call was about lowering my interest rates on a credit card. (which one they did not know, since they mentioned just about ALL of the possibilites.) This call came on my cell phone. it also said if I wanted to be "removed from the list", I should press 2. When I did, the line went dead.

I got the same call SEVERAL times. They keep harassing me. They are so fake, I don't even have a credit card. Some lady named Nicole answered it and told me my voice was annoying, when she obviusly needs hearing aids to hear her annoying voice that I had to put up with. These people should GET A LIFE, and stop being jealous of people who have a nice voice.

This company called my cell phone (only my family members have this #) They stated they were "Financial Solutions" from Park Ave. N.Y. and they were going to lower my debt.

Received call about 9:30 AM Pacific Time. Did not answer, as I did not know the number, and they did NOT leave a message. Are any of you reporting this NOT Verizon customers? Most I've heard of are serviced by Verizon. I get similar calls, who do not leave a message, several times a month, though less of them the past month or so.

Automated message when I answered the phone stating that her name was Erica and she was calling in reguards to all my current credit cards, visa, mastercard, discover. she claimed it was urgent.
I was then offered an option to press 1 for more information or press 2 to be be removed from their calling list.

People, these calls are simply made from an autodialer and there's no reason to put anymore thought into it other than simply not answering the call. These companies use VOIP to bypass the actual exchange so it looks legitimate but it is just a solicitation or fraud call. I've wasted my time here as well. Don't answer if you don't know the number. They will stop calling eventually.

i received a missed call from this number and they had left no message on my voice mail. From what I could find out, the call is being made from Biloxi, MS; I know no one from that area. They called my cell phone, which I have had only for a few weeks now.

I have to tell you people you are going to need to move as fast as lightening to catch these guys. I asked her what her address was. She said: 4627 Park Ave, New York. I asked her what floor they were on. She said the 4th. Then I hung up. Googled the address. It comes up as bronx new york. Street view shows that the building does in fact have 4 floors. Anybody in the Bronx care to check it out? So as you can see, no, they're not from Biloxi, MS.

Recieved this call at work. Located number on reverse lookup. Did not respond. I never give out my mobile number except 2 wks ago to a car rental in Atlanta, GA. It appears they have somehow mined numbers for their scam (crooked employees selling numbers or cracked company number database). Not happy as it appears they will keep calling (according to previous posts) so report it to FTC as noted.

I received a call from this number on 9/25 at 3:13pm and on 10/01 at 9:04am. I didn't answer and they left no message. This was on my digital home phone and I'm not sure how they got the number because it is unlisted.

They've called me a few times in the past month. Each time I press '2' to be removed but they keep calling. Today I pressed '1' to speak to an operator. He came on and said "you pressed 1 to lower your rates!" and I said "no, I pressed 1 to speak to a human" and he immediately hung up.

My recommendation (which I've used with other telemarketers) is to waste their time as well. Act interested, ask questions about the offer, but don't give any personal information and ee how much of their time you can waste. You'll feel much better when they finally hang up on you for wasting their time for a change!

I just received a call from this number and did some research into it. I called the police who referred me to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB said that the number was connected to a business which calls itself “Credit Card Services,” but there is no address and no name other than that. When I sent to “creditcardservices.com,” they have the following message posted. Apparently they are not the ones doing the calls and would like to catch the criminals, as well. Just received a call at 1.51pm EST on my iPhone from (228) 209-9560 Biloxi, MS, about my credit cards. Pressing #1 to find out what's going on with my cards (doh!), a male person asked me if I had pressed #1 to lower my interest rates. I said no. Did I press #1 for some kind of free vacation then? I told him I wanted to find out why they're calling me on my cell about my credit cards. Beyond rude, the guy yelled at me "Your cell? I'm going to call you every day, you f***ing retard!" and hung up on me. Unbelievable.

Has called my phone 3 times for 3 consecutive days at around 10:30 each day. No voicemail and when I try to return the call it states that the phone number is no longer in service.

Told me that they were calling about my 20,000 charge on my visa for a Cadillac. They called my mother in laws cell phone.

Please everyone contact the FTC at 1-877-382-4357 and go through prompts to report them. Spoke with the attorney generals office in MS - they said there was nothing they could do, just call the FTC. Doubt that's true but what the heck!

I've been getting calls from these bozo's at work for weeks.
I've tried getting on their No Call list, I've asked for their home office address - they hang up, I've tried reasoning with operators - who typically hang up, I've wasted their time pretending I do want their service - but somehow they figure me out before I'm more than 10 minutes. Of late, I simply press 1 to talk to a person, then I lay the phone down on my desk and continue working. In a few minutes, I find they have hung up, and I do the same.

i JUST now got called from this number for the third time. the second time was about 1 hour ago, i answered, heard what it was about briefly, then hung up. this time i quickly pressed 1 to talk to a customer rep. and asked if he could please take me off of their calling list, very politely. my response was "i would but i just twisted my ankle and i cannot get to the do not call list today, sorry."

Received an unsolicited call from this number just now. I missed the call, no message was left, and when I returned it to see what this call was about, I got a recording saying that this number has been disconnected or is no longer in service. How can this happen? And, how can this be legal?

Judging by the comments and my own personal experience these are the same people who say "Do not panic" in regards to credit card problems... I've received 3 of these before. Supposedly, some option at the end of the message allows you to press a button to be removed from the list; let's say it's probably "not working."

normally i don't answer calls from numbers i don't recognize, like this number, but this time i did and it was a computer message saying that there was something wrong with my credit card account. at that point i hung up because i don't have a credit card.

Called my daughter's cell phone, left no message

missed call- i called back from another # and it's disconnected.

They called and left no message, so I tried to call them back and it said it was a non-existent number, though reverse phone look-ups do show it listed as a cell phone in Biloxi MS. I don't know anyone there, and only 2 people have this cell phone # of mine that I keep for special purposes. I'm happy to see in the above post that it was a company with automated voice because I was worried that the main person who uses this phone for me had ended up in MS somehow, which would be a very bad thing.

I JUST got this cell phone... and am on the do not call list AND isn't there a law now that stops this computer calling BS??? I gave up my land line because of all the unwanted solicitation - DO NOT TELL ME this isn't going to change a thing!

This number called me a couple of times I picked up once and nobody answerd then I called back and it says that the number is out of service

they called 2x during dinner we did not answer but they called on my cell and i am on a no call list
